In a world where technology is advancing day by day, engineering technology is also advancing a lot.
Today I bring you some of the best bridge designs in the world. these are the most beautiful designs that have amazed the world. These bridges have been preserved as a great resource for the national economy while preserving the historicity of the country.
Sydney Harbor Bridge
This is a design that many people have often seen in photos. It is built adjacent to Sydney, Australia. Built 440 feet above the harbor, it is considered to be the largest steel arch bridge in the world. Due to the large-scale use of steel for this purpose, the bridge is designed to be expandable and movable to minimize the potential damage caused by climate change. The bridge can be raised or lowered up to 18 cm when required.
Construction began in 1924 and opened to the public in 1932. It considered as oe of the most amazing bridges in the world.
Golden Gate Bridge
The bridge was nicknamed the ‘Golden Gate’ because it glows red in the hot sun. Built across the strait between San Francisco and the Marines, the bridge is one of the largest suspension bridges in the world.
The design engineer here is a man named ‘Joseph Bistramus’. Construction began in 1933 and was completed in 1937. As mentioned earlier, this glows red because the bridge is painted red with orange alloys to make the bridge more visible during heavy fog. It is 2737 meters long and 27.4 meters wide.
This can be seen in the background scenes of many Hollywood movies.
Ponte Vecchio
Built across the Ano River in Florence, Italy, the bridge dates back to the Middle Ages. It is also the only surviving bridge in Italy after World War II. This is a very crowded bridge because of the shops selling jewelry, souvenirs and various works of art. The total length of the bridge is 95 meters and it was opened in the year 1345.

Construction began in 104 AD and opened in 106 AD. Its height is 45 meters and its total length is 181.7 meters. The width of the bridge is about 28 meters. This is a bridge with six arches built of stone.
Chapel Bridge
The bridge is 204 meters long and is built across the river Reus in Switzerland. Visitors to the bridge can see some of the oldest wood carvings in Europe. Built in 1333, the bridge was damaged by a fire in 1993 and was rebuilt and opened to the public in 1994. The bridge also has a roof. The inside of the bridge is decorated with 17th century paintings.
Charles Bridge
It is one of the oldest bridges in the world and was built across the historic “Viltava River” and belongs to the Czech Republic. Construction began in 1357. Work on the site was completed in 1402. The bridge is the only link between the Czech Republic’s Prn Palace and the Old City. Therefore, this is also considered as a bridge of historical value. The total length is 516 meters.
Millau Bridge
This is a cable-stayed cable-stayed bridge. The cable-stayed bridge spans the Tan River, which flows near the southern French city of Milau. The highest point is 3443 meters and the maximum speed at which a vehicle can cross the bridge should be limited to 100 kilometers per hour.
Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge
This is also known as the “Pearl Bridge”. It is also considered to be the longest suspension bridge in the world. Work began in 1986 and was completed in 1998. The bridge connects the city of Kobe on the Japanese island of Honshu with the island of Hawaii.
