About Universal Stories

The Digital Portfolio of Sasindu J. Mallawa Arachchi

Bridging the gap between theoretical engineering and real-world industrial application.

Welcome to Universal Stories. This platform serves as the technical portfolio, research log, and professional archive of Sasindu J. Mallawa Arachchi —a Mechanical Engineer specializing in Research & Development, Energy Conservation, and Thermal Systems.

While the internet is full of theoretical textbooks, the physical world demands practical execution. The mission of this platform is to document the realities of modern engineering: analyzing industrial systems, breaking down complex thermodynamic challenges, and sharing the mathematical and physical truths that govern how we build a more efficient future.

The Engineer Behind the Platform

I am a Mechanical Engineering graduate (B.Sc. Hons) from the University of Moratuwa, currently working in industrial R&D. My professional focus lies at the intersection of sustainable energy, industrial utility optimization, and advanced product design.

Throughout my career, I have learned that the best engineering happens on the factory floor, not just on a CAD screen. Whether I am analyzing industrial heating systems, developing sustainable machinery, or recovering lost energy in manufacturing plants, my approach is always the same: rely on physics, validate with field data, and engineer for maximum efficiency. Universal Stories is where I document that process. It is a living record of my technical methodologies, research insights, and professional evolution as I transition toward advanced academic research and global engineering challenges.

What You Will Find Here

To capture the full scope of a modern engineering career and personal development, the content on this platform is divided into four core areas:

  • Engineering Labs: Deep-dive technical analyses into mechanical design, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and energy systems. Here, I break down the physical laws that dictate machine performance, share methodologies for real-world industrial optimization, and document my hands-on R&D projects.
  • Money & Hustle: Today’s engineers must be multidisciplinary. Beyond the math and machines, I document my “life experiments” in digital business, e-commerce, and the strategic side-hustles required to build financial independence in the modern global economy.
  • Student Life: Navigating the transition from university to the global industry. This section serves as an archive of strategic advice, academic reflections, and practical survival guides for engineering students and young professionals mapping out their careers and seeking advanced research opportunities.
  • Universal Stories: Engineering requires rigid logic, but true innovation requires imagination. This section is a dedicated space for my creative works, archiving my original fiction, storytelling projects, and the creative writing I have developed over the years.

Why “Universal Stories”?

The most compelling stories aren’t found in fiction; they are the universal laws of physics, thermodynamics, and economics that run our reality. A machine’s efficiency tells a story of entropy. A factory’s energy consumption tells a story of optimization. Here, we decode those universal rules.

Connect & Collaborate

Whether you are an academic researcher, an industry professional looking to optimize your systems, or a fellow engineer, I am always open to discussing new technologies and collaborative opportunities.
